The new octo black editions

THE SAGA OF THE PRESENT-DAY WATCH CONTINUES

Since its 2012 launch, octo soon earned its place on the Fine Watchmaking scene and has established itself within just a few years as a 21st century horological icon.

Through its various interpretations, it remains rooted in this contemporary dynamic without ever betraying its roots. A modern cult-watch, stemming from the merging of Italian design and Swiss watchmaking expertise. The saga continues with two new models: Octo Finissimo Skeleton and Octo L’Originale in a chronograph version, which both opt for a total-black outfit.

OCTO L’ORIGINALE CHRONOGRAPH

Urban Chronograph

Octo L’Originale, in its chronograph version, radiates an urban, contemporary and sporty character. The ultimate universal function, this complication useful in daily life transforms the Octo L’Originale into an instrument that nonetheless maintains its elegance through an instantly recognisable, powerfully structured case based on octagonal geometry with eight cut-off corners.

The duality between Swiss watchmaking expertise and Italian creativity finds stunning expression here. The best of two worlds merge in order to create a beautiful, high-performance watch that radically renews the chronograph spirit. The focus here is on style rather than mere legibility. Framed by a 41mm-diameter Diamond Like Carbon (DLC)-treated stainless steel case, fitted with a black rubber strap, the matt black dial bears black hands, numerals and hour-markers.

The deliberate graphic and aesthetic bias is accentuated by the balanced V-shaped layout of the three counters, with minutes at 3 o’clock, hours at 6 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock, while the date appears through a window between 4 and 5 o’clock. This strong and elegant creation exudes the kind of distinctive character typical of the Octo collection, easily recognisable and majestically highlighting an authentic technical vocation.

OCTO FINISSIMO SKELETON

A refined Skeleton Model

Octo once again demonstrates its taste for challenges by presenting the Finissimo Skeleton. The beauty and balance of Octo’s signature shapes is matched by the delicate artistry of the entirely openworked movement, embodying meticulous hand craftsmanship capable of transforming mechanics into lacework by eliminating any superfluous material.

The result is visually stunning: the structure of the watch is all about transparency, enabling crystal-clear views through the whole movement, of which each element is openworked. This mechanism is none other than the Finissimo BVL 128 SK calibre, a Manufacture hand-wound skeleton movement measuring just 2.35mm thick.

In addition to the dedicated central hours and minutes hands, which appear to be suspended in mid-air, the calibre drives small seconds between 7 and 8 o’clock as well as a power-reserve indicator between 9 and 10 o’clock. Set against a backdrop of traditionally decorated watch components, this original movement structure ensures a generous 60-hour power reserve.

Staged inside a 5.37mm thick, 40mm-diameter Diamond Like Carbon (DLC)-treated black titanium case fitted with a black titanium bracelet, the openworked craftsmanship stands out from traditional interpretations by the black coating adorning all the bridges.

Octo Finissimo Skeleton, an opulent men’s watch featuring taut, edgy lines, resembles an objet d’art encapsulating the inimitable Bvlgari vision of elegance. This strong and graphic creation is available exclusively through authorised Bvlgari retailers.
